Biography:

Dr. Derry Dance completed his MD (UBC 2009) and subsequently his physiatry residency at the University of Toronto in 2014. He worked at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute from 2014-2015 in neuro-rehabilitation, principally in traumatic brain injury. From 2015 to current he has worked in the acquired brain injury rehabilitation program at GF Strong, and was previously the medical manager of the same program. He completed an MPH in Quantitative Methods from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2015 with a focus in Quality Improvement methodologies, and completed his JD and BSc PCTH from UBC previously also.

Clinically, Dr. Dance does inpatient and outpatient work in brain injury and stroke rehabilitation, with a particular interest in neurocognitive rehabilitation including aspects of behavioural management. Dr. Dance’s research interests span concussion/acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury (autonomic dysfunction), and integration of clinical systems evaluation with quality improvement approaches to rehabilitation care.

When not working, Dr. Dance enjoys running, eating all the foods, and having fun with his two boys.
